Here in Studio 2 of the Grady school of Journalism and Mass Communication, volunteers from all corners of UGA come together to produce a strong newscast. Here are the volunteer staff positions of Newsource 15.

Robotic Cameras: Cameras 1, 2, & 3 are the main cameras that capture the anchors as they read the news. Operator uses a control board with preset for camera shots.
Prompter: The operator of the teleprompter is responsible for organizing the scripts within the computer and scrolling them at the right speed for anchors to read.
Floor Director: This person does everything from signaling camera transitions for the anchors to aiding with microphones and IFBs.
Audio: From within the sound booth, this person operates an audio console and insures that the news is heard by the viewers.
Live Shot: This adventurous staff position entails checking out cameras and equipment from Grady and transporting it to a live location on campus via one of the two Newsource electric carts. Once there, the live shot crew sets up their equipment and reverse feeds the live story back to the studio.
Playbacks: These work like digital VCRs that play prerecorded video clips during the show. The two playback we use are "19" and "47," which are named for their routing numbers.
Keynote: Using an iMac computer, Keynote will be used for full screen graphics such as weather and double boxes.
Master: Those working in master control monitor multiple screens and insure the shading levels are appropriate for each camera shot. Those working this position also must route the show into the cable system and the web for the live broadcast.
