It is produced by senior broadcast news students who rotate weekly through every single job in the newsroom: producer, assignments editor, anchors, writers, reporters, videographers, sports and weather. Technical production is handled by an all-volunteer staff managed by students who also rotate through assignments.

Production of NewSource 15 occurs in an advanced newsroom, with nonlinear editing on every desk, its own proprietary newsroom system, a half-million dollar VizRT graphics system, and affiliations with CNN, CBS and the Associated Press. Students shoot all their own stories on DV format cameras and produce nightly “live shots” using either two electric cars that send signals back via a reverse cable feed or wired or wireless Internet broadband.

While NewSource 15 is produced at the Grady College and supported by its staff and faculty, it is an entirely student-produced news product editorially separated from the University of Georgia and the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia.
