| The GSPA 2009 Summer Adviser Workshop is open to Georgia high school newspaper and yearbook advisers. The workshop will be held July 23-24 at the University of Georgia in Athens and comprises 10 hours of instruction. First-day sessions will be held at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and second-day sessions will be held at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication or another nearby academic building.
Workshop Schedule
The first session begins July 23 at 2 p.m. and the final session ends July 24 at 5 p.m. Hotel check-in and workshop registration is July 23 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Workshop Credit
For an extra $50 fee, participants will earn one Point-of-Learning Unit from the Georgia Department of Education. PLU credits are processed through the office of Professional and Personal Development at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Tuition
Due to a generous grant from the Cox Institute for Newspaper Management, tuition for the workshop is $199 per participant. Tuition includes one-night hotel accommodation (single room) at the Georgia Center, a banquet dinner on July 23, a buffet breakfast and cafeteria lunch on July 24, supplies, and operating expenses. Participants may upgrade their hotel room for a nominal cost.
Local participants desiring to not stay overnight can register for $110.

Registration
will begin on May 3. The early registration deadline is the close of business on Wednesday, June 24. Registrations received after June 24 will be subject to a $25 late fee. Registration will be closed at 5 p.m., Thursday, July 2.
