Biographical Note

Dr. C. Ann Hollifield

Dr. C. Ann Hollifield is an assistant professor in the Department of Telecommunications and Coordinator of the Michael J. Faherty Broadcast Management Laboratory in the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. Dr. Hollifield has worked as a reporter, anchor and producer in commercial television news and as a documentary and public affairs programming producer in public television. She also worked as a business reporter and managing editor for a business newspaper. She holds a bachelor's degree from Whitworth College and a master's degree and a doctoral degree from The Ohio State University. She also studied media management in Germany as a Fellow of the Robert Bosch Foundation. Her areas of research interest include the effects of industry structures and ownership on content, the strategic management of transnational media companies, and the effects of the media on the larger economy.
