Melanie Zuñiga, a graduate of Texas State University in San Marcos, joined the James M. Cox Jr. Center for International Mass Communication Training and Research at the University of Georgia in early October as an Administrative Specialist.
Zuñiga, who earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a speciality in public relations, is in charge of the day-to-day management of the financial activities of the Center and provides programming assistance for all phases of the Center’s activities. “We are extremely pleased to have Melanie join the Center,” Dr. Lee B. Becker, director of the Cox Center, said. “She brings to the job demonstrated managerial and organizational skills that will be of great value to us.” Zuñiga worked for a variety of retail firms in her hometown of San Antonio, TX, before moving to Athens. Her responsibilities included hiring, sales, employee scheduling, creating monthly business plans, and promotion. The Cox Center is a unit of the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. Zuñiga began work in the Center on October 8. |
