Between 1998 and 2013 the James M. Cox Jr. Center for International Mass Communication Training and Research has conducted 45 international workshops in 19 countries. The total number of foreign participants is 1,447.

The Cox Center has hosted 61 groups of international visitors and 54 international journalism educators and journalists from 27 countries. Edward Murrow fellows, Transatlantic Media Network fellows, Fulbright scholars, Muskie fellows, Freedom Support Act and IREX fellows have been among the visiting scholars.
