Our Mission Statement:

Birder South ignites the passions of backyard and adventurous birders who live in or travel to the South to pursue their love for birding. Birder South's unique, in-depth articles will provide essential information about destinations, conservation and wildlife education, as well as the people who have contributed to this multi-billion dollar industry.

Who we are:

Birder South is a full-color magazine created by the magazine publishing class in the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Throughout the semester-long endeavor, students gained invaluable experience in the magazine field. Each student had to learn how to produce a magazine from the ground up. By perusing these pages, you'll learn a good bit about the abilities of the students who created this magazine, and you might learn a little something about birds as well. Whether you're a birder or not, you'll be surprised at how these students spread their wings.
