Results of Surveys of Hiring Practices of Daily Newspaper Editors and of Commercial Television News Directors

Abstract
Graduates of Journalism and Mass Communication programs made up 86% of daily newspaper entry- level hires and 93% of commercial television newsroom entry-level hires, according to the most recent estimates of the role of journalism education in providing workers for these two industry segments.
The findings are consistent with research conducted by others who have documented the importance of journalism education to journalism practice
