Spring 2008 - Global Diseases: Voices from the Vanguard International leaders in the war against the world’s most dangerous diseases speak in a series presented by the Knight Chair and the Center for Tropical and Emerging Global Diseases. Lectures are held at the UGA Chapel; a reception follows.

January 15, 2008 – Kate Winskell, Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, kicks off this series of international leaders discussing the war against the world’s most dangerous diseases. 6:00 pm

February 12, 2008 - Jim Kim, director of the François-Xavier Bagnoud Center for Health and Human Rights at the Harvard School of Public Health, will discuss his work in HIV/AIDS at the second in this series of international leaders in the war against the world's most dangerous diseases. 4:00 pm
