Michael J. Faherty was Exective Vice President of Cox Broadcasting from June 1992 until his death on February 13, 1993. In that position, he worked directly with Cox Broadcasting President Nick Trigony on projects that involve the entire scope of Cox's broadcast division. Mike Faherty had been Executive Vice President for the radio division at Cox Broadcasting. For seven years prior to that appointment, Faherty was the Vice President and General Manager of WSB-FM and WSB-AM in Atlanta, GA. He spent the first 20 years of his career with the Westinghouse Broadcasting organization.
Faherty served on the boards of the Radio Advertising Bureau and the National Association of Broadcasters. He was a member of the Radio Operators Caucus of the NAB's DAB Task Force. He served as president of the Georgia Radio Reading Service for the Blind (a United Way agency). He was a member of the Henry W. Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication's Advisory board and president of that body from 1987-89.
Faherty was born in New Jersey on April 20, 1938. He attended Rutgers University and later obtained a master's degree in business from Columbia University.
