Grady College’s Broadcast Bluejeans Workshop is a casual workshop short on philosophy but long on helpful, practical information for improving coverage and broadcast news storytelling. A good mix of high school and college students as well as small to middle market broadcast journalists typically participate.
A group of outstanding professionals are on hand to share their knowledge. This year’s workshop presenters are:
Wayne Freedman, ABC7News, San Francisco, winner of 44 reporting Emmys
John Hendon, WYFF-TV, winner of 29 Emmys and the Edward R. Murrow Award
James Townley, Former NBC News Tape Editor and NPPA Video Editing Instructor
Small groups of participants will rotate through sessions with each of these distinguished
instructors. The day will start off with an update on Georgia's sunshine laws from the Georgia First Amendment Foundation. Participants are encouraged to bring their own stories on VHS for review by all instructors at a fourth, wrap-up critique and question and answer session.
